Running your fitness business, where to get started? PROFIT
Running a fitness business is a whole other set of skills. It doesn’t matter how good your anatomy or program design is, or how energetic and motivating you are if you don’t structure your business properly you won’t have success! You may pay the bills and work hard but I am talking Success with a capital S.
Now what I am talking about may not get your juices flowing but once you have figured this out you are going to be maximizing your ROI, Return on Investment. You will invest your time in working and you need to get a return – as Pat Rigsby says “You get Paid for Done”. My question is how much do you get paid?
Now giving camps, fitness assessment, talks away for free are very solid marketing plan and by no means am I saying that you shouldn’t do that, what I am saying is that you need to know what it costs you to run that camp or training session and after you take away all the costs how much is left for you? How many hours did you have to put in outside of that session to make it happen?
So here is worksheet that you can use to try and figure out how much you are actually making in your fitness business and if your price point is working for you.
Let’s use running a 6 week boot camp twice per week as an example and let’s assume that your time is worth $50/hour.

So if you want to earn $50 for your time, this is a business, in the example above you need to bring in at least $930.
The reason that we look at this is we are trying to figure out what your price point should be, if you normally charge $200 for a 6 week course than you need 5 people to make this class earn a PROFIT. Every camper that you bring in on top of that is PURE PROFIT.
So make sure you understand your price points to generate PROFIT in your fitness business and have Success.
