Killer Bicep Exercises
These are some of my favorite bicep exercises that I do to help my arms look good and defined. By having defined biceps you look strong, it helps add to the bulk of your upper body, and it is always the first muscle to show when you try to impress the ladies! So lets get started with these exercises! And if you have any questions or comments please feel free to post below!
Preacher Curls
Why should you use the preacher curl in your bicep routine? The main reason is good bicep isolation. Because of the unique design of the preacher curl bench it makes it so your biceps will be isolated throughout the whole exercise. They are doing the work and not other muscles.
Hammer Curls
There are a lot of reasons to use the hammer curl. This exercise benefits you because of your wrist position. With a normal dumbbell curl you can often feel your wrists get tired because of the position but in the hammer curl this should not be the case. Also the certain path of the exercise allows your muscles to be in tension during the whole exercise.
Lateral Bicep Cable Curls
Now this is one of my favorite bicep exercises and I really feel the work being done when I perform this. If you are not sure what this is then I will explain. You stand between two cable machines with the cable set to your shoulder height. You then set the appropriate weight and extend your arms out from the side and curl the cable towards your head. This exercise really isolates the bicep and allows for a different angle and position to exercise your biceps which adds to a great workout routine.
Barbell Curl
This exercise is often considered to be the top dog exercise for the biceps. It allows for a full range of motion for your muscles for the maximum muscle tension. When you do this exercise you need to make sure that you keep your back straight and your neck back. You do not want to be swaying and moving as you can really injure your self and your muscles will not be hit as effectively.
Cable Curl
The cable curl is virtually the exact same exercise as the barbell bicep curl except you are going to use the cable machine instead. The one big difference is that by using the cable you have a constant tension in the msucle that you will not have with a barbell, which allows for a harder and more effective workout.
