Lose Weight Forever, with Weight Watchers

The science behind Weight Watchers is successful and the results of a long term follower are hard to deny.   This method of weight loss has been around since the 1960’s and continues to grow in popularity and results.  They focus on maintaining a balanced diet and exercise program that is based on a point system.  This is a long term program which makes the psychology behind sticking to the plan for years easy to understand.

Weight Watchers will focus your consumption of foods based on the points system.  They allow a higher point load, for foods that are bad for your particular body and your particular lifestyle.  The lower pointed foods are typically better for you and provide a more “full feeling”.  These foods are usually high in fiber and substance and low in fats and calories such as popcorn and carrots.  You are assigned a maximum number of points allowed each day and so long as you stay within that range you can eat what you want.

The exercise program is also based on a point system.  You get points based on the exercise you do every day.  The goal of any new all new Weight watchers members is to work toward an hour and a half of exercise each day,  keeping your heart rate up for much of that time.  These points are added to your total point value for the day.  So if you earn 4 points through exercise each day, that is 4 more points to add to the consumption pot.  Weight Watchers is renowned for its effectiveness and its point system, but you hear little about the support behind it all.

Once you join Weight Watchers you have many resources at your disposal.  You can attend weekly meetings or you can attend a “Virtual” meeting online.  The support and access to professionals can keep you on track and motivated.  The prices are not bad when compared to other diet plans.  You can attend once a week in a brick and mortar office for about 15 dollars a week or attend multiple support meetings as often as you want with an unlimited pass, they run about 35 dollars a month.  Should you prefer to attend the virtual meetings you can look to spend around 5 dollars a week.  These meetings are the very core of Weight Watchers, and the means to keep you motivated.

Motivation can be a tricky thing when talking about a forever life change.  With Weight Watchers, you will completely relearn everything you know about eating and about your lifestyle choices.  Most people who join Weight Watchers are long term followers whether they attend meeting or not.  After using their system for so long it is like second nature, so should you ever stop attending their meetings, it is easy to keep up the healthy lifestyle.  The ease in which this diet performs is gentle both on the body and the mind.  This program is an investment in your health, and no other investment will have a higher payout in the end.
